Pedagogical Course


In order to achieve this course’s extraordinary musical level the Galaico Brass Festival is gathering a teaching staff made up of experts who many of them will be coming to Galicia and the Iberian Peninsula for the very first time. Such an event will offer a unique teaching experience, 5 days long that has yet to be made on offer in this region until now.

 

Additionally Galaico Brass Festival will have a wide selection of workshops and master classes given by our hand picked specialists to open up an unknown world of possibilities for the participating students: workshops on ancient music; ensemble and chamber music; practice techniques; mental training for auditions; relaxation and visualisation techniques through yoga.

    What is the Pedagogical Music Course about?

    The Galaico Brass Festival’s Pedagogical Course is an educational music course for all brass players: trumpet, horn, trombone and tuba/euphonium. 

    Students of all of ages and levels are invited to participate.

    The course will last 5 whole days: 8th to the 12th of July 2024 and will take place in Merza, Vila de Cruces (Spain).

    The total amount of active students will be limited to 80 places (20 per instrument). Everyone will receive daily lessons between the hours of 09:00 to 20:00 and will also have access to  following activities: 

    Individual Lessons
    Group Lessons
    Music Yoga
    Instrumental Maintenance
    Sport-Music Psychology
    Lectures 

    How do I apply for the Pedagogical course?

    The application for the music course will be available from April.

    What does the pedagogical course include?

    In addition to various lessons and activities, the music course includes entry to all concerts of the festival, accommodation and food depending on your application type:

    • 4 individual lessons and various group masterclasses

    • Feeding (lunch and dinner) during the 5 days of the festival.

    • Accommodation in “Baños da Brea” from 7th till 13th July (6 nights) with breakfast included.

    Application

    Underage students need to provide a singed consent form from a parent of guardian in order to apply. 

    Accommodation and Food

    Individual dietary requirements can be provided for.  Underage participants will be provided with safe and separate accommodation. 

    Chaperones

    All underage participants will be cared for by a personalised team of chaperones who will attend safety and allow them to gain the most out of the GBF.
